Frans Hals, Laughing Cavalier, 1624

A trained art historian specializing in decorative arts, Frans Pijnenburg advises clients in New York and Europe on the acquisition and disposal of works of art and on their placement within design interiors. He has been employed by Christie’s, Rome as a consultant for furniture and decorative arts where he worked on, among others, the collection of Baron Lemmerman, one of the most important in Europe and renowned for Italian and other European pieces.

Mr. Pijnenburg has taught the appraisal of twentieth-century fine and decorative arts at New York University’s Appraisal Studies Program and holds graduate degrees from the University of Amsterdam.
